Mae plastigau bioddiraddadwy yn gyfeillgar i'r amgylchedd oherwydd eu bod yn torri i lawr ym mhresenoldeb micro-organebau. Maent fel arfer yn dod o ddeunyddiau naturiol fel planhigion yn lle tanwydd ffosil, ac yn dilyn amodau rheoledig llym i'w gwneud yn ddiogel i bobl neu anifeiliaid (ymhlith eraill) eu defnyddio'n barhaus.
Why defnyddio plastig tafladwy bioddiraddadwy yn lle plastig arferol?
Biodegradable plastic is better. It's no depletion of non-renewable resources, can degrade in the environment. Biodegradable plastic when decomposing releases CO2 but only the carbon that originally was in the material that composed it. Less pollution is also achieved because fewer emissions are discharged when producing biodegradable items.
Normally, regular plastic items can take up to 1,000 years to decompose in landfills. Even plastic bags we use in our everyday life take anywhere from 10 to 1,000 years to decompose. Biodegradable plastics take three to six months to decompose fully. That's much quicker than synthetic counterparts that take several hundred years.
